Lysistrata
Watched a play, Lysistrata (original play by Aristophanes) last friday... The play itself was about the Peloponnesian war, and how an Athenian woman came up with the idea of witholding sex from their husbands until the war stopped. Her idea spread throughout Greece, and eventually even Corinth and Sparta joined in the "no sex until no war" thing. Anyway... the play I watched though was a modern adaptation... Atenean women witholding sex from their Atenean boy friends until they stop the whole DLSU AdMU rivalry... They supposedly hid themselves inside the Manuel Pangilinan Center, and refused their boylets happy time, unles they make up with the greens... It had a VERY sexual undertone, with the characters playing it out beautifully. It was at a high point of satire, unlike most who overdo the sexuality and turn proper plays into sleaze fests. memorable lines? "Wait! Wait! That La Sallian has a knife! Wait, that's not a knife... that's an erection!" Needless to say, it was hilarious, but unsuitable for kiddies... The parents who watched it... You should have seen their faces. Pity it was only a one night show... the'res another cool one coming up though... "Dante's High School Inferno!" sounds interesting... I'm going.
